Well I just got my DVD burner but here's the problem I didn't get the damn DVD burning software for it. lol I should have read newegg's description more closely. Well anyway I need DVD/CD burning software for it, were can I download it? My DVD R+- is 16x and my CD is 48x any good recommendations as to which software is the best and as to where I can get it. Thanks for anyone helps me out.
Well, im sure you can DL the newist Nero off of http://www.torrentspy.com.
The only two programs you'll need for burning DVDs:
DVD decrypter (this program is free, and it will soon be your best friend)

CloneDVD (this isn't a free program, but you can download it from any of the bittorrent places)

Another program I recommend is DVDlab pro. If you want to author your own DVDs this is the way to go.
yeah get Nero or Easy DVD creator. both are good for making DVD video/data discs.
Just bought one myself today. (that thing was a BITCH to get into my computer. Almost destroyed the damn thing putting it in. Luckily I downloaded Nero and dvd decryptor before my internet was taken away. (Yes, i'm 20 and my parents took my computer away - yes, I really should move out lol) So ya, i've been using my dads computer at night to check up on stuff. =P Off to go try to figure this stuff out.
clone dvd is pretty decent

try

dvd decriptor and dvdxcopy platinum

those are both great

yeah new burners don't come with dvd burning software
I've been burning dvd's for years and I must say that DVD Decrypter is my best friend it really cant be beat.
yeah i use decrypter cus you will need it to back up pretty much any dvd you ever buy so...

dvdxcopy platinum is good for compressing so...... but in conjunction with descripter you should be good the only movie i couldn't back up was res evil apocalypse which i really don't care that much if it gets scratched up i got it cus i liked the first one but the second wasn't that interesting so...
if you guys want freeware all the way use
DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink they are both freeware and all you will ever need.. Btw the guy that wrote DVDShrink was hired by Ahead and if you check out Nero Recode it looks pretty much same design as DVDShrink so you can check that out.. IMHO way better then CloneDVD or any of those dvdxcopy crap..

http://www.doom9.org will have all that for download or just do a search for them.

And for just regular burning all the way around.. i only suggest Ahead Nero. very good all around burning application.
Well burning's been going fairly well. Not sure how to use dvdshrink though... How do you save the changes you make? I make all the changes I want and go to recode or whatever that button is at the top right and I don't see any way to save the changes i've made so I can use Nero to burn it to a dvd. Am I just completely missing something?

Also, where do you guys buy your dvd-r's from? I see on ebay auctions like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...37374&rd=1

but that's so much cheaper than the stores it makes me wonder if i'm missing something and i'll regret buying off ebay...
i just buy my dvd's from BestBuy i got Imaginations for like $80 for 100 pack.

Also DVD Shrink will burn the dvd's already.. so you just hit to recode button and go.. and it will burn it to disc for yea.. but for a guide

I buy my DVD+Rs from Global forgot the full name but their website is http://www.tigerdirect.com For current prices you will need to check the site though last time I checked Single Layers were $20 or lower for 50 discs DVD+/- both. I could be wrong though havent checked the store or the site in a while...
DVDS Shrink and Nero are a dream team together. DVDrs are so cheap now, I think Best Buy had Sony 8x for $20 for a 50 pack of + or _.
Cidien Wrote:(Yes, i'm 20 and my parents took my computer away - yes, I really should move out lol)

Hey don't worry about it, I'm just glad I'm not the only one who gets in trouble still (like when I stay out till 3 AM w/o calling.)
In my country if you want a blank dvd from the store you'll pay I think eur.1 (and eur. 0,50 for a blank cd) to our MPAA/RCAA (whatever they're called) which they supposedly transfer back to the music and movies industry. As a result you can't get a single blank dvd for less that eur. 1,50.

So we just import them from Germany or Belgium for like 0,20 a disc Big Grin

As for software, I use dvddecryter for movies but for ps2 games I use alcohol120% which is a must since I've had many coasters using other programs but this one seems made for games.
