Well when you have a country where mothers can band together and make manufacturers reduce barbies breast size and the amount of make up on her and where the colors red and green are banned from any use at Christmas time in a school in Texas or where books like catcher in the rye are banned what do you think will happen. The parents in this country just want to blame everything else for the lack of itelligent children they are producing. Anime has nothing to do with childs behavoir if a parent thinks that an anime is too mature then don't let your children watch it, its that simple this country is just to damn lazy to deal with our problems ourselves so were just going to blame movies and music and video games instead of actually raising our children proplerly.

Thats true, but parents can't watch what their children watch or what they do all the time so of course they gotta blame someone else. "monkey see, monkey do"

TV Wise Parental Block. If they can't handle it they should blame themselves...

In my opinion that's just another excuse. Parent's have the responsability to educate their kids, it's their fault if they watch something they don't want them to. There's always a way to stop them, even if you have to lock the tv away.

Not to be an ass (it seems like I have crafted a lot of negative comments and then sent them your way lately, but I never intend for any malice to exist in them) but you are a good example of what happens when parents don't expose their children to media. They have a lot of ignorance when it comes to, oh entertainment for instance. Also remember ignorance is not stupidity, ignorance is simply the lack of knowledge, and that is what happens when you try to shelter kids. Instead of taking away TV programs, a parent should sit down and talk with you kids about what they watch, that way there are no misconceptions about the things they see. I?m not saying kids should watch porn or anything but parental involvement is the real key.

for whatever reason kids are exposed or not expoded, they will eventually figure it out. now a days, do parents actually sit down and have a decent talk with their kids? other than; that how's your day, don't do drugs, and other blahdy blahdy blah.
i don't know, parents are very busy these days, working hard for their children's education, not nowing what their kids learn outside of school.

I don't even know why I watched Jerry Springer to begin with (must have been good at the time when it actually showed the fighting), but all I know TV in general is not that great anymore thus why I result to mostly watching anime, or just play video games.
I just when I have kids, I hope I can pass on the judgement of what constitutes good television programming and bad programming.

I agree with you. I said that before because I do think parents run from their responsabilities and blame it all on others but at the same time I think parents shouldn't protect their children from the outside world. Ryo is the perfect example of that, he isn't prepared for the outside world. I also agree that parents should sit down and talk to their children about everything no matter how busy they are.

I can see what everyone is saying, it is up to the parent to teach their child properly, right from wrong and all that, when a child is exposed then it is the parents responsibility to explain to their child all the facts, my parents never bothered with talks like dont do drugs be catious of strangers and all the facts about sex and everything. that had a huge impact on me when I did learn all of it from school and friends. parents need to take responsability and talk to their children, its that simple. just because I saw mario jump on a goombas head doesn't mean I want to go outside and do the same!!!!

Reminds me of something my friend told me about a stand up comedian he saw. The guy said something like this:
?All right, I'm lying in bed at night and I hear "kill, kill, kill!" and I say, "was that you Satan" and the voice says, "No, It's a me, Mario." Blaming violence on video games is stupid. Like I'm going go out and jump on someone?s head and expect a coin to pop out their ass!"

Aint that the truth.
