Hellz yeah I am there, the Saturn next to the Turbo and Dreamcast is my all time favorite system, it beat the shit out of the PSX in 2D games. I need to replace mine though, I have worn it out. Any suggestions on where to get one, besides ebay?

Interested in Saturn? - Mantis421 - 10-26-2004

Being one of the minority of people really didn't care for nintendo all that much SEGA no matter what they made. I still have my old sega master system and Genesis. As much as I liked SEGA I never really got much of a chance to play a Saturn. So I should ask what system did the Saturn best compare quality wise with. I think I was to into the 3DO and Neo Geo systems when Saturn was out.

Interested in Saturn? - evilomar - 10-26-2004

Well if you loved 2d games, the Saturn was king at it. no slowdowns, hardly any loading time, and SNK and Capcom loved developing on the user friendly Saturn. KOF 96' baby!!!

So it sounds like Saturn and Neo Geo were on the level with each other?

Interested in Saturn? - evilomar - 10-26-2004

The Saturn was a 32 bit system, the Neo Geo was 24 well actually it was a dual...... well we won't get into that crap. Anyway yeah the Saturn was great man, like I said one of the most underrated systems, at least here in the States.

Interested in Saturn? - Schultz - 10-26-2004

nah i think underrated was the Dreamcast.. Everyone decided to wait for the Ps2.. Also i think it was a bad move by Sega to try and get like 400-500 dollers for a Saturn until the Playstation came out.. then they dropped it down to 300. And since then no system has started higher then 300.. hopefully it keeps like that.

Im a big saturn buff. I had the system when it first came out and own two of the more rare U.S games, Dragon Force and Gaurdian Heros, though i doubt i will ever get my hands on a copy of Panzer Dragon Saga.
I've been trying to get my hands on a new one since my old model went to the big retro gaming store in the sky.
I havent been able to find a used one for under 30 bucks yet, but im thinking of trying the trade forums.
If any one wants some good import stuff for the Saturn check out

For those serious about the saturn you have to get yourself a 4in1 cart so you can play some sweet import games like house of the dead and street figher alpha 3

Saturn is a 32-bit system like Omar said. Your missing out on great games like the Langrisser series, The Shining Force Series, Radiant Silvergun, the Lunar Series, a whole mess of great ported 2d shooters like Don Do Pachi, Don Pachi, Battle Gaerega, Strikers Series, Batsugun, Blast Wind, Blue Seed, Bomberman Series, Darius shooter series, Parodius series, Metal Slug, Gradius Series, Megaman Series, Street Fighter Series, Thunder Force V Series, X-Men: Children of the Atom, Xmen vs Street Fighter, Vampire Hunter, etc etc etc!

Interested in Saturn? - Hidalgo - 10-27-2004

Dont forget the panzer dragoon series, light gun games with the stunner(in my opinon the best home light gun ever made), Die Hard Arcade a.k.a dynamite deka, and some gundam games such as ghiren's greed that never showed up here.
Also classic cheese like one of my personal fav
Corpse killer Graveyard Edition with classic fromage lines like
"Ya mahn, I like ya piece brah"
"Gota get datura"
"gonna get me ah bad ass humma jeep like wat arnol got en holywood"
And of course nights and that sweet 3d controler.
Let the old school fun begin!

P.S
You havent lived till you have played virtua cop john woo style
Double the guns, Double the fun

Really? In my country and I think the rest of europe as well the ps2 started at (I have to calculate back to euro's) about € 550,-(and I paid that for it). What was the release price in the US?

Interested in Saturn? - Schultz - 10-27-2004

Wow i have noticed that happening for people in Europe.. I mean example the new Dell Handheld Axim x50v is only $500 here in the states but for the same thing its 550 Euro's thats $700 for the same thing.. and onlything different is where you are buying it. And ya its only been $300 since the start.. Thats when i bought mine also..

Looking for physical games not roms
Do you have any physical games?
All i saw on your site was stuff for roms.

Interested in Saturn? - Jaded God - 10-27-2004

Physical games... We work by sharing games through torrents. Instead of ftp, http, hubs, etc.
