Not in my top 10 but I was pleasantly surprised when I watched it. It was way better than I was expecting. I'd say if you like goofy serious anime definitely watch it. I think you'll know what I mean when I say that. :p
The only thing that kinda sucks is I wish they had a higher cg budget. But it doesn't look real bad. The ending episodes actually look really cool.

This is also not in my top 10 either. I would recommend seeing it though. It kind of reminded me of Nadesico when I watched it which I quite enjoyed. I felt it had some nice character designs and development especially in the second half. Some of the mech combinations were cool but others were a little corny I thought.

This is tough but here's my list that pops to mind (not in this particular order)
All things Gundam (especially 0083, Wing, Seed Destiny)
All things from Studio Ghibli (especially Grave of the Fireflies)
Berserk (could have used a better ending though)
Trigun (you are nuts if this isn't on your list)
Cowboy Bebop (series and movie)
Getbackers (I liked it, was kinda like DBZ meets Trigun meets Bebop)
Kenshin OAVs (series was alright but the OAVs were amazing)
GTO (just because)
Now and Then, Here and There (why this isn't more popular baffels me)
Hellsing (I want a part 2!!!!, not often you hear good english voice acting)
I'm sure I'm missing something that should rank in the top ten but I think that's a pretty respectable list. Notice that the list is almost completely 5 years+ in age (they don't make them like they used to)

These are just things that I'm partial to more so then what I'm currently favoring or watching, and have remained so even after years of watching other shows/movies/oavs.
