Much like everything else in this world that people try to ban, this is probably an example of someone who knows the very bare minimim about anime as a whole. I go to college with people who if you ask them if they have seen any anime before the first thing that they ask is isn't that that Japanese cartoon porn? Thats the big problem. What most of us can do to prevent such things is try to let people know what anime really is, for people who have no clue that might have even alittle interest.

Thats why it would be attached to other petition. That way politicians would be less likely
to legalize banning of anime. Much as I like Hammer and want to see Hammerman I also
like anime so by doing this they would ban petition on general principals. However a
cartoon they should bring back would be Freakazoid. that would be...Neato Torpedo.

All of the charcters were great but one of my favorites is definatly Cosgrove[the cop] he would ALWAYS take Frekazoid somewhere when he shoulda been saving someone LOL

Freakazoid was awesome. I couldn't believe it when the stoped airing the show. Then they aired it again for a while then it was gone for good. =(
Pretty much ALL the older WB shows were really good. If they wanted great ratings Saturday morning all they'd have to do it put all their old shows back in the lineup lol.
I don't bother getting up Saturday morning anymore. I did for a long time but the crap they have on now isn't worth it at all.

Censorship can ruin a great anime quite easily because it causes to many damn changes. Censorship can ruin just about anything. So I bet the majority here feels the same way you do Blight I know I sure as hell do...

Wow. There is one thing I agree with you about. Freakazoid is one of my personal favorites.

From my point of view what worries people the most is not so much the thought of anime being banned as it is the ignorance-based-will to censor (anything). It's like Blight said, censorship pisses me off, particularly the motives behind it.

It could've been worse -- the Parent's Television Council, the same one that complained about "Saving Private Ryan" this past Veteran's Day, could've spearheaded the petition to ban anime. Right now, according to The Conservative Voice, they're getting on MTV's case over last year's Spring Break.

Ok i am a Christian and i go to a Bible School and church and i study the Bible so i mean i ussually know what im talking about as related to scripture.
let me just say this is by far the dumbest petition i have ever seen in my life.
instead of typing 3 pages and over 100 reasons why this is completely crazy and stupid im just going to say this
i suppose if we ban anime we should ban movies and music and food..... yes i said food because that would be a stupid as banning anime.
I agree that some anime is pretty messed up and i don't agree with it and i wish some stuff was not around cus i think it's pretty immoral but guess what i think like 10% at most of the anime out there is actually bad enough for me to say that it shouldn't be around and 10% is counting the horrible anime i don't know of.
to be honest anime is ussually much cleaner then movies in america now a days.
they should go watch trigun thats a pretty moral and clean anime
