Degenerating video quality - The Swan - 03-19-2004

Some DVDs (even Legit) ones...sometimes suffer from something called DVD ROT (search in the WEB)...basically that only begins happening sometime 6 months or maybe over a year after the DVD being made...and that gradually makes the DVD unplayable

Search in the WEB and you will find some info

Maybe that 's your case, too ?

Thank you for telling us about DVD Rot. I wasn't familiar with the term and you're right about finding information about it with a simple search.

From the handful of articles I read, this one (http://www.manifest-tech.com/media_dvd/dvd_compatibility.htm ) has some of the most well thought out information available.

Fortunately, this is not a huge problem within the industry. Unfortunately, none of the disc manufacturers appear to have treated it as a real problem yet.
