well the ring remake was ok, but it was still rubbish in my opnion becasue a.They didn't improve anything from the orignal and b. it wasn't scary

Well I have to agree to an extent! I haven't seen the Americanized movie-The Ring but the previews weren't very convincing to me after seeing the Japanese original! I will rent it the American one soon.

American Ring was freaking FREAKY! hehe... i havent seen the original japanese one but people say its scarier (probably cause its subtitled hehe) but american has bigger budget and better effects.... that openning scene with the girl's face in the closet just freaks me out thinking about it ~_~ gonna pick up the dvd next time i am at the store

I haven't seen the american version and doubt I will. Ring is one of if not the best horror movie ever made. I doubt it gets any better than that. :mrgreen:

I have to differ Kakoi Ring the American version is far better... even my Japanese friends are beg me to rip into a SVCD for them because the effects were so much better and the lighting was spot on, but then that's how it goes what american's want is the Japanese version and Japanese want is the big budget version....HeHe

My sister watched The Ring over the weekend at a friends house and loved it. So I grilled here about it, and it made me sick! I want her to see Ringu now. Every thing in Ringu was so well done it didn't need to be re-made into a big budget american movie!
