Never mind it's Mazinger Z. Now my question is does anyone know anywhere you can get a good subbed version? The english ones so edited they edited out almost fully 1/3 the series.

Sorry, but a big fat WRONG. Tech Romancer is not based on any anime, however it does have Mechs that are pretty much rip-offs of famous anime such as Mazinger Z, Getta Robo, Gundam, Macross, Evangelion etc...

I guess I read on several sites the main character of the game is from mazanger z. The rest are just kinda pulled from other places.

The main character is called "G-Kaiser" and is basically a rip-off of Go Nagai designs such as Mazinger Z and Gaiking
