so yeah i just finished watching it and i got everything except when the world was destroyed then everything was white sand and so i was thinking did she create a life sustainable world or did he meld with her and become unconcious except his memories or what and what was the deal with the tear was that just symbolic kinda disney like thing you think or what

MOST DEPRESSING ANIME EVER I mean grave of the fireflies is bad but this is wow

I watched Saikano quite some time ago so I can't precisely recall how it ended (don't remember any tear). I do agree this is probably the most depressing anime ever, especially episode 9, but I actually thought the ending was kind of happy. I mean, the entire world was destroyed and he lost his body (it did seem to me like they became one) but in the end they stayed together, and I'm a sucker for love stories where the lovers can be together, so this was indeed a happy ending to me.
