I wouldn't use the word 'magnificent', as 'decent' would probably be a better term. I found them satisfactory, particularly when compared Ms. Kanno's past work.

I have to agree with that. Macross Plus has some of my favorite pieces by Yoko Kanno.

Macross Plus was the first anime I ever saw that made me check out who actually did the soundtrack. Since then I've grown to appreciate the scope of Yoko Kanno's musical career and I have a hard time picking out my favourite. She was amazing on Escaflowne and it's probably due to how much I like Bebop that I prefer that music to her other stuff.
