not sure how many will be interested ( or even have the kind of cash flow to come to Winnipeg ) but here's a little plug for a con that the anime club I belong to is doing 
( I just copy pasted this plug I did from another forum, with a few minor changes )

com on pre-reg for Chibi-con!
pre-reg is only 25 measly bucks,:eek: (Canadian$ )Cheap! ( and if yur a member of a local anime club it's ONLY a 20 spot! )
Get 'em before oct. 1st or else you'll have to fork out 30 instead!
Passes are available at Oriental Gifts, IrBen, Pristine comics and coleectible, JAAW and of course Winnipeg Anime Club (WAC)

this is just a small poster that I'll be plastering around the city,at least my neighborhood
