Exactly. It's like if I went to France and sat in a room listening to a French comedian talk about their "Pop Culture", most of the refferences would fly over my head. The reason American shows are funnier to people born in North America, is because that's stuff we know. It's humor we've grown up with and are accustomed to.

Not Goldenboy. But in something like Urusei Yatsura, 90% of the stuff will go over our heads.

Honestly, no one thought of that? Even though American cartoons are funny, the only entertainment I really need is anime to keep me happy. But, by all means if you want to talk about American cartoons then go ahead.
