Now, granted there may not be a very big audience for that particular genre, but writing isn't necissarily for the readers...it's for the author.
I said I gave up wanting to write that genre, I still want to write. It's just I wanted to write deep & meaningful, yet horrific works. I mean I can sit here & type all day about demon rapings, & vampire suductions, but it'd all be plotless, just an excuse to write some porn inwhich someone looses a life, I want to point out the flaws of human exsistance. The closest I came to this can be summed by the story of this:
It opens with a boy who's sitting on his bed obcessing over a stuffed doll, untill he notices the girl next door. Upon which he throws the doll into his closest. He then begins stalking the girl which is the stock of the story, just focusing on the obcesstion the boy holds. Well in the end, he kills her & stuffs her like his little "doll". He sits there talking to her dead corpse everyday tell it how much he'll love it forever, then the last paragraph or so explains the point that he sees another girl, which is when he puts the stuffed girl into a his closet, which is full over atleast 6 other stuff wemon. Which was supposed to show the fickleness (I think that's the word) & confusion of human emotions. A work which I'm never motivated to work on, plus it's probably far from original.
Besides that I still work on some fantasy stuff. Like I've announced at some otehr places, I plan on finishing & publishing a book of five short stories covering the lives of:
A werewolf wanting peace between his people & the humans he lives among.
A Vampire who seeks power.
A Demon who seeks death.
A Elf on a quest to retrieve a rare flower to give his soon to be wife a human form.
And, a street punk in a mystical world, training to kill the vampire who destoried his town.
All stories take place in the same place, with the characters meeting others at certain places. It's all due to the entire plot, which covers a big war, & how everything was mutated, & about another nuke about to reenter the atmosphere & destory the world, all of which happened because their "god" like being slacked off, so now he goes around in an almost mortal form to help the heros set things right.
So far I've "finished" (I'm trying for 15 pages for each) 2 of these, and have about 4 pages of the elf one, 3 pages of the street punk, & maybe 2 pages of the demon one done, but that one isn't typed.
