i am new to this site and i was wondering wether the hk animes are dvds or vcds and if they are good quality?

They're DVD's. For quality, go to teh review section in thsi site, since each set is different.

they are mostly decent dvds (not dvd-rs) and you wouldnt even know that some are bootlegs!

Personaly I think they look a lot nicer than R1 DVD. Smile

Then most R1s, yes. Than all? I don't really think so. There are some AMAZING looking HK sets though.

Unless they're R2 or R3 DVDs, they are ALL bootlegs.
