I don't know if Berserk qualifies as Gothic...but that's where my vote is going.
The best, but not not favorite would probably have to be S.E. Lain, but for titles I like or plan on seeing, if I'm thinking of the right one: Vampire Princess.
I don't exactly know what fals into the gothic genre but I don't think Lain should be in it. Very freaky anime though.
I vote for Berserk as best gothic anime, hell I vote berserk for best overall anime (with Now&Then). Vampire hunter D Bloodlust gets an honorable mention for best gothic animation.
