I have three questions, since I was interested in it.
1) How many eps of the anime is there?
2) Is the anime over?
3) How much is released on DVD?
1) 39 episodes on TV + 3 movies
2) Yes. It's pretty much stopped being made.
3) On HKDVD, all episodes and movies are done. Most are really nice. On R1 DVD, none are released although from the sounds of it, I don't think I'm going to pick up the R1s (what Tokyopop did to it is scary I hear).

Well, I was considerring buying it here. Cause I hate Dubs. Always prefer the Jap. Thats why I asked how much was out on DVD. I wanted to know if I could buy the whole series here, and if so how much it would cost. But I never did say that, so my apologies.
How long is the manga? I have up to volume 6 here, and Im about to read it.

The Initial D anime offically ends in Volume 17 of the manga, with Vol.191.
Project D begins in Volume 17 of the manga, with Vol.192, and is currently in progress.
